Pieris valley Valentine is broadleaf evergreen from Ericaceous family. Its hardiness zone is 5 to 8 with height 2′ to 4′ and spread 3′ to 5′. Blooms maroon in April. Grows well in full Sun to part shade, needs medium water and regular maintenance. Best grown in organically rich, slightly acidic, medium moisture. It grows best in locations sheltered from wind with some afternoon shade. Remove spent flowers immediately after bloom. Bead-like flower buds are set in late summer for the following year and provide winter interest and contrast to the evergreen foliage.
