Prelude has bright pink new growth and pink flower buds in the winter, opening white in Spring. It has compact growth with 2′ x 2′ in about ten years. Hardiness zone is 5. Pieris prefers moist, but well drained acidic soils. It can tolerate full sun but grow better in part sun to part shade. Mid-spring application of compost will be helpful in growth. Protection required from cold winters and extreme winter temperatures. Best to not let it dry out during the hot summer months growth. Pieris is evergreen foliage and bloom color is white.
